High School Career Center Course (Winter)
CDA is currently giving a course in Nonlinear Digital Editing
and Filmmaking to High School Students from the Southeastern
Vermont Career Education Center. The program, which currently
offers two semester courses per year (one in the Fall and
another in the Spring) and instructs 12 students per semester,
is in its fifth year. Students work on a variety of video
and computer projects to learn 2D and 3D imaging skills and
techniques and fundamentals of filmmaking. Video projects
include making a 60 second television commercial, creating
a logo, and making a ten to fifteen minute movie . Depending
on the project, students work individually or as members of
a two-person team. Students are bused from the BUHS Career
Center to the Centers studio at 74 Cotton Mill Hill
(a ten minute bus trip from the school to the classroom),
and work in class from approximately 9:30 AM to Noon. The
course, which offers 8 electives, is taught by Michel Moyse.
